Well Spacing and Vintage Analysis

To run Well Spacing and Vintage Analysis, right click on the deviation survey table and select Analytics Explorer > Well Spacing and Vintage Analysis.

The Well Spacing and Vintage Analysis tool provides for calculation and visualization of the following:

Well Spacing

The well spacing calculation is required for Vintage Analysis. Well spacing is the first criteria in determining neighboring wells. If you want to create the well spacing visualizations, select Output spacing table and visuals at the bottom of the Well Spacing section of the Well Spacing and Vintage Analysis dialog. See Well Spacing Calculations for details on how the distance is calculated.

Vintage Analysis

Vintage Analysis tags each well of interest as a parent, sibling, or child. The well relationship (parent, sibling, or child) between the well of interest and all neighboring wells is determined first by distance, and then by the event date such as completion. The time threshold and event table/column information is entered under Vintage Analysis. Note that you can run Well Spacing without running Vintage Analysis by clearing the check box at the top.

You can select the fields from the provided drop down menus in the Vintage Analysis section, or you can click Specify tag criteria, which opens the Custom Settings dialog. There you can specify the priority of the classification tag. Defaults are provided. See Vintage Analysis - Custom Settings for details.
