Distance Grid
The Distance Grid calculates the distance of points along the selected boreholes to the nearest borehole and creates a distance grid (heat map) at user-defined bin spacing. The heat map shows the relative distance between boreholes colored by Min, P50, P25, and Max distances.
To create a distance map on selected wells:
-
From the populated deviation survey points table, select (mark) the wells that you want to include in the calculation. Then right-click and select Analytics Explorer > Distance Grid.
-
In the Distance Grid dialog box, select the X and Y bin size. The default is 100 map units, feet or meters. You also have the option to map the X and Y columns if your data has a different column header and the columns are not recognized.
-
Click Compute.
The result visualization is an XY Distance Grid - Heat Map colored by the Max | P50 | P25 | and Min distances between the boreholes.
