Petra requires a database to manage project data, perform repairs and maintenance, as well as maintain user settings. Petra’s database has been upgraded form version 3.0 to 4.0 in Petra 2020. We strongly recommend that you create a full maintenance and backup of all Petra projects BEFORE installing Petra 2020. For details, refer to the IHS Markit document “Petra 2020 Database Upgrade". Petra internal database version 4.0 is not backward compatible. Projects created in earlier versions of Petra must be migrated to the new database before they can be opened in Petra 2020 or later. Petra internal databaseThe Petra internal database is integrated in main module and is intended only for single users working on non-shared private mode projects.
