Petra 2020 database upgrade

Petra’s database has been upgraded form version 3.0 to 4.0 in Petra 2020 and is no longer backward compatible with earlier versions. Projects created in earlier versions of Petra must be upgraded to the new database before they can be opened in Petra 2020 or later.

DBIUpgrade.exe

DBIUpgrade.exe is an external tool used to upgrade your projects from database version 3.0 to 4.0. The self executable file is located in the Geoplus1 directory.

Folder

Selects directory path to project folder

Load

Loads projects from selected directory into Project Table

Project Table

  • Project Name—Names of projects in selected directory

  • Project Path—Project directory path. Default = C:\Geoplus1\projects

  • Private Path—Directory path for user specific private parameters. Not used in multi-user mode.

  • INI Path—Project.ini file directory path. Default = C:\Geoplus1\projects

  • DB Ver.—Version number of project database. Petra 2020 and above requires version 4.0

  • Status—Displays project upgrade status, Required or Complete

  • Max File Size MB—Displays size of largest file in project. Multiply this file size by two and verify that the number is smaller than the number in the Temporary Folder Free Space field.

Overall Progress

Progress bar and upgrade current action description.

Log Filename

Name and location of project upgrade log file.

Remove temporary back up files

Option to delete log temporary files created during upgrade process.

Update public projects only (Multi-user setups)

Select this option in multi-user environments.

Temporary Folder Free Space

Shows available disk space that can be used for your upgrade. Available space must be at least two times the size of the largest file in your project. Upgrade will fail if there is not enough temporary space available.

Temp Folder

Location of your computers temporary folder. You can navigate to another drive and location if needed.

Upgrade button

Launches the upgrade process.
