Cross Section Slip Box

 

The slip box feature creates an image of selected area in a temporary window (Slip box) that can be placed anywhere on the desktop.

Slip boxes are useful for comparing sections, changes to the cross section and creating "What if"scenarios between wells.

Slip box options include:

  • Multiple slip boxes displayed simultaneously
  • Translucency slider allowing slip box to be placed on top of cross section without blocking underlying image
  • Right-Click options menu

Slip boxes are for temporary use only and cannot be saved. Closing the cross section will open slip boxes. .

 
To create a Slip Box in the Cross Section Module:
  1. Open the Slip Box Tool:
  • Click the button on the tool bar.
  • Select Slip Box from the menu bar: Cross Section: Display > Slip Box > New Slip box
  1. When the cursor becomes a Cross Hair ,Click and Drag the area you want to capture and then release the mouse button. A translucent window slip box will be overlayed on the cross section.

Once created, You can re-size and or move the slip box as an independent window anywhere on your desktop. Additional options for the slip box are available using slip box windows context menu (Right-Click).

Petra version 2020 and above support multiple slip boxes

To close Slip Boxes:
  • Click on the Slip box windows close button
  • Select Close all Slip Boxes from the menu bar: Cross Section: Display > Slip Box > Close all Slip boxes
  • Close Cross section module
