Connecting to Energy Map Services

Energy map services provide you access to IHS Markit spatial data over the Internet that you can connect to Spatial Explorer or other ESRI or custom-developed web mapping applications. Energy map services are available to subscribing customers on the Energy Portal of the IHS website: my.ihs.com.

To add energy map services as data sources in Spatial Explorer, you need the URL for the map service, as well as the user name and password for the account that has access to these services. There are several ways to locate the URL for a map service, though the following procedure is suggested as a best practice. A list of IHS map service URLs is also available in the Map Services Directory.
