Exporting Maps

You can export any map, including elements you've added to the map such as grid lines, scale markers, legends, and title blocks, to a PDF file or several graphics file formats (jpg, .png, or .bmp). To export a map, click . You have the option to render either a low resolution or high resolution image. Rendering a low resolution image is fast, but may result in a poor quality image, particularly if you are exporting a large map. Selecting the high resolution option can result in a better quality image, but it might take much longer to render the image depending on the complexity and size of the image you want to export.

When exporting a PDF file, the size of the PDF is determined by the paper size you define. When exporting .jpg, .png, or .bmp files, Spatial Explorer limits the image dimensions to approximately the dimensions of A4 paper with a maximum resolution of 300 DPI.

Exporting high resolution images

To produce high resolution images, Spatial Explorer relies upon remote ESRI servers to render the image. The rendering process is time consuming and is controlled entirely by the ESRI server.

After you begin the export process for a high resolution image, both Spatial Explorer and Well Explorer are locked to prevent any corruption to the image.
