System requirements
Minimum system requirements apply to the License Service, and we recommend various operating systems for the License Manager.
License Service system requirements
Note: | The License Service is the Sentinel RMS License Manager. |
The License Service uses UDP port 5093 to communicate with client workstations. Please ensure this port is open on your network.
The minimum system requirements are as follows:

In addition, the following items need to be immutable:
1. Host Name
2. UUID
3. Use a static IP address to ensure that commuter (network) licenses work.
Recommended operating systems and setup for the License Manager

The License Manager uses TCP port 443 to communicate with https://softwarelicensing.ci.spglobal.com/ems to activate and deactivate licenses.
Operating systems
We recommend using one of these operating systems for the License Manager:
- Windows 7 32 or 64 bit
- Windows 8.1 64 bit
- Windows 10 64 bit
- Windows Server 2016, 2019
Remember: The License Manager does not need to run on the same machine where the License Service is installed. It can be run on any machine with connectivity to the License Service. All License Manager functionality (including activations and deactivations) can be done remotely.
Ports
TCP port 443 is used to communicate with https://softwarelicensing.ci.spglobal.com/ems to activate and deactivate licenses. This applies to network and standalone licenses.
UDP port 5093 is used for communication between the License Service and client workstations. This applies to network licenses only.
