Obtaining the license file from a different computer

If the computer on which Petra is installed does not have internet access, you can retrieve the license file from a different computer that has internet access, and then move the license file to the computer where the software is installed. The Standalone Licenses tab has the following additional options:

File	Use this option if you have received a feature key file via email from Customer Care. 1. Save the feature key file (lservrc.zip) to your computer and extract it. 2. Click Browse Feature Key File, browse to the extracted file and click Open. Your license is automatically installed and activated.
EMS	Use this option if the computer with Petra installed is not online. This method requires the following: • a different computer with online access • EID provided from the Entitlement Certificate email. • Computer Lock Code from the Standalone Licenses tab in Licensing.exe. Email	Use this option to request a feature key file via email from Customer Care. Copy your Computer Lock Code from the Standalone Licenses tab in Licensing.exe. Then click the email link, PetraLicensing@ihsmarkit.com. Paste the computer code into the subject field and send. IHS Markit will send you your feature key lservrc file. Follow the steps for connecting by File above.
