Line and corridor cross section selection

Map Module: Cross Section > (XS1 or XS2) Line and Corridor...

When using the Line & Corridor method to select wells for a cross section all visible wells on the map displayed on the map inside the corridor will be projected onto the line at a right angle.

All visible wells within the corridor will be projected onto the cross section, including re-completion wells and wells without tops or logs.  Re-completions are stored as a separate well (usually with an API ending with 0001).

To create a cross section using the line and corridor tool:
  1. Start the line and corridor selection tool: Map Module: CrossSection > (XS1 or XS2) Line and Corridor...
the curser changes to a Well selector curser
  2. Draw a line on the map: Click on the map to establish a start point and then Drag to the required end point.

  1. Define the  corridor boundaries: Left-click on a point perpendicular to the line and Drag to define a boundary on one side of the line.

  • If needed, a second boundary can be defined  on the opposing side of the line. Left-click at a point on the opposite side of the the line and Drag.

  1. Right-click, to end boundary definition. By default, the line and corridor method projects wells into the cross section at right angles.  Each projection line has a small node where it touches the cross section line.  Moving this node changes where a well is projected into the cross section.

Move line node projections

Each projection line has a small node where it touches the cross section line.  Moving this node changes where a well is projected into the cross section and can change the position or order of the well on the cross section.

To move a line node:
  1. Select the Move line node projections tool : Map Module: Cross Section > (XS1 or XS2) Move Line Node Projections...
the curser changes to a Well selector curser

  1. Select and drag individual projection nodes as needed.
  2. Right-click, to end.
