Picking and Editing Events

 
DWM: Toolbars > Events

"Events" store depth-related information and annotations about directional wells.   This can include casing information, gas kicks or fluid losses, drilling or rig events, lithological data from cuttings, or sidetrack annotation.

Events are stored in the table on the Main Module Interval tab where they can be edited or deleted.

There are three different kinds of events:

  • Text boxes
  • Point events—save information about a single depth on a directional well
  • Range events—save data about a part of the directional well between a top and base

Event Toolbar

The Event tool bar provides the tools to add events to the directional well and can be toggled On/Off from the DWM Toolbars menu.

Adds a new Text Box

Opens a Point Event.

Adds a Range Event

Edits an existing event.

Directional Survey Drop down

Events can be stored against any of the well's directional surveys. To view the events for a different survey, select it from the drop down box.

Editing Events

Move a text box

Shift-Click on the box and drag it to the new location

Edit event settings

Shift-Double-Click on the box

Change event depth

Click and drag the depth marker

Change depth of a point or range event

Select then Double-Click on event to edit

Delete an event

Alt-clickon the event
