Installation
There are three Petra setups:
- Standalone—installed on local machine used for running Petra application accessing local projects or network projects
- Client / Network Projects—clients run Petra application accessing shared projects using client and server installation
- TS Setup—all users, Petra application and projects run on a server
Standalone
Typically, a local Petra installation with local projects used by one user; however, the Petra projects may also be located on a network server. The Standalone installer is used to install the Petra application. Use Config.exe located in the installation folder (i.e. c:\geoplus1) to configure folder paths.
Client / Network Projects
Multiple users accessing shared projects on a network. The Client Installer is installed on each pc/laptop workstation and the Server Installer on the network server. Use Config.exe on each user client setup to configure the system and client folder paths. Note that this setup is susceptible to network congestion/latency and network access overhead.
TS Setup (Terminal Services)
This is the recommended multi-user setup. All users, Petra application and projects run on a server and users RDP into the server using remote desktop or remote app.
