Display settings
The Display Settings tab includes options for grouping wells on the map display, showing well status or well attributes, and changing the well symbol.
Grouping points
When you select the Group Points option on the Display Settings tab of the Display Properties window, Spatial Explorer visually groups point data such as wells on the map to simplify visual display and improve performance. This grouping is based on map scale and spatial proximity. For example, at a small scale, the Spatial Explorer map shows individual wells, and as the scale increases these individual wells that are close to one another are grouped together and displayed on the map as one or more circles. Each circle has a number indicating the number of wells represented by the circle, and each circle increases in size based on the number of wells it represents.
Displaying data by two attributes
Unlike other data layers, for well data you can display two data attributes on the Spatial Explorer map rather than just one. You can display one data attribute by point color and one attribute by point size. For example, you can display cumulative oil by well point size and total depth by well point color.
Display wells by status or attributes
By default, Spatial Explorer displays wells on the Spatial Explorer map using the well status symbol. You can clear this option and display all wells by one or two attributes, but you cannot display wells by status and also by well attribute. When displaying wells by attribute rather than status, you must choose a well symbol to use for all wells (by default, Spatial Explorer uses a circle).
