Batch Gridding

Map: Contours > Batch Gridding...

This operation allows Petra users to select and run multiple grids in the background.

Requirements

Map: Contours > Create Grid... Running multiple grids in batch mode requires that selected grids be saved with the following options:

·Auto Load/Save template with grid (Data tab)

·Create Grid Control Template (Miscellaneous tab)

Note: These options are selected by default when creating grids.

Control points

One of the options on the Create a Grid dialog Data tab is an option to "Include Control Points".  Control points are data points not tied to a particular well and can come from a wide variety of sources including seismic data, topographic surveys, or from legacy computer-generated grids. Control points are stored in various files read by the map and are included when a grid is used to create a contour. When multiple grids are run in batch mode maps are not referenced so any control points that have been added or changed after a grid was created are not included in the contour.

Important: Before running a batch list, always re-create grids that include control points modified after the grid was created.  Otherwise, new or modified control point data will not be included in the new contour.
