Settings

Settings on the Spatial Explorer main menu provides the following options:

Decimal settings

If you select to display a label around your well spot, you can control how many decimals to display. The dialog box provides multiple levels of control for displaying zone information.

You can access the Decimal Settings dialog box from the main menu: Settings > Decimal Settings.

The Decimal Settings dialog box includes 3 columns: Data Types | Items | Attributes.

To set the same number of decimals for all zones (items) and attributes, simply select that number beside Zones under Data Types. All other Items and Attributes post the same number.

However, consider the following scenarios if you want a more granular level of decimal control. For this example, the zones (items) are Canyon, Dean, and Spraberry. The attributes are Gas, Oil, Permeability, Porosity, and Water.

  • For different decimal settings for zone Spraberry, simply select the number beside the zone name "Spraberry" in the center Items column. When you select a number, the Zones field in the Data Type column clears as the setting is no longer global across all items.

  • For different decimal settings for specific zone attributes such as Porosity for a selected zone (item), select the decimal number for the Porosity attribute in the right column, Attributes. When you select a number, the decimal setting field for that item clears as the setting is no longer global for all attributes in that zone.

Other options include:

  • Reset to Default—removes all values from the dialog box.

  • Save Template—.saves all settings in a template file in the project

  • Load Template—loads the selected template file contents into the Decimal Settings dialog box.

Symbol settings

Symbol Settings provides the option to import custom symbol files or folders into your project. Supported file formats are *.svg and *.png. You can import individual files, or a folder containing the files.

To import symbols:

  1. On the main menu, select Settings > Symbol Settings.

  2. At the bottom of the dialog box, select a conflict resolution option if the file being imported already exists in the project. Options include:

  • Append—if the file exists, import the new file and append the file name with an integer.

  • Replace—if the file exists, replace the existing file with the new file.

  • Skip—if the file exists, do not import the new file.

  1. Select File or Folder and browse to the files or folder containing the symbol files.

  2. In Windows Explorer, select the files or folder. Remember only svg and png files formats are supported.
